Training
Smart Express
Morelli Group have invested heavily in its commitment to develop training programmes and packages to assist its customers. To that end, they have acquired a business called Smart Express, a leading supplier of products and training to the smart repair industry, together with its training centre in Portsmouth. Since Morelli Group's focus for the next period is on cycle time reduction and key to key management, this is a strategically important acquisition it will enable our customer to be trained to deliver a 24 hour repair within a traditional body repair facility. This is particularly important as major volumes are now being removed from bodyshops into roadside mobile repair solutions and threaten to undermine traditional methods. The products, equipment, training and computer packages offered by Smart Express are industry leaders and together with their mobile Training Support Vehicle will be training many bodyshops to offer a 24hr repair facility be it mobile or fixed. Morelli Group's investment into this business has moved them forward into another market which benefits both themselves and their clients and keeps them at the forefront of the industry in these challenging times

Morelli Group were officially a supplier partner to Skill 36 Car Painting we provided panel stands, trestles, gun holders and various other items of equipment that the students used across the three days of the tasks. By the end of the competition we had supplied product to Skill 13 Autobody Repair and Skill 33 Automobile Technology. Due to the nature and scale of the event which was supported by students coming from over 50 countries there were several last minute needs that Morelli Group were able to help with and we found ourselves having to communicate in several languages supplying product to South Korean, New Zealand and South African students amongst others, fortunately each country had a translator although we managed to get by with the New Zealand and South African competitors!
To give an idea of the scale of the event Autobody Painting had 12 fully operational smart repair booths in a row with 20 competitors performing the set tasks, each student had to repair a dent in a door and to paint a Union Flag on a Bonnet amongst other tasks. The door panels and bonnets were held on Morelli panel stands and the judges highly commended them for the stability and mobility that they provided to the students. The UK students did well in the three events Morelli supported with silver for Ross Varnam Autobody Repair and bronze for Ben Eaton, Paint and John Couldridge, Technology.
